Meu apt-get não funciona no Ubuntu 8.04 [RESOLVIDO]

se vc esta atraz de uma rede windows seria bom vc tentar conectar direto (fora da rede) , para ter certeza de que nada nela esta atrapalhando o apt.

eu acho que é porque você está usando usuário do ambiente gráfico, você tem que dar estes comandos como "root"...

Eu acho que o angeloo tem razão!
Depois que fiz uma atualização no ubuntu tou com problemas com o sudo.
Então estou primeiro me longando como root no terminal para depois instalar algo:
sudo su
"Digito a senha"
apt-get update

Tenta aí!

esse ubuntu ta maluco mesmo, agora aqui quando vou mudar um simples papel de parede ele usa 100% a cpu,fica pesadão toda vez que uso a aparencia, seja pra trocar o tema , font,papel de parede, agora essa do sudo rss, vou tirar fora, num to com paciencia não.
eu uso o root no ubuntu aqui assim
$sudo ls (para ele pedir a senha)
$sudo -s (dai ele entra no root)

Olá pessoal !

Então, acho que eu estou com um problema parecido. Eu tambem nao consigo acessar NENHUM repositório. Executando o comando "apt-get install" recebo a seguinte mensagem:

E: Could not het lock /var/lib/dpkg/lock - open (11 Resource temporarily unavailable)
E: Unable to lock the administration directory (/var/lib/dpkg/), is another process using it ?

Quando eu tento fazer o download de repositorios no synaptic, eu recebo coisas do tipo:

The repository may no longer be available or could not be contacted because of network problems. If available an older version of the failed index will be used. Otherwise the repositoty will be ignored. Check your network connection and endure the repository address in the preferences is correct.

O que devo checar na minha rede ? Configurações Proxy ? Gateway ? Onde no Ubuntu eu posso mexer nesses lances ?

Eu tive um problema parecido no firefox, mas habilitei a opcao que detectava automaticamente as configuracoes proxy e resolvi o problema.

Eu uso o Ubuntu 8.04 e um roteador tp-link.

parabens mesquita, depois de tanto bla bla bla. apareceu alguém que me ajudou. o comando http_proxi=http://ip-do-meu-proxi:porta

era o proxi que tava bloqueando o apt-get

Cara, mandou muito bem, eu já tinha mechido em tudo de resolv.conf e tudo q pudesse ser dns, eu imaginava que fosse proxy mas nunca ia conseguir, valeu mesmo!

Eu estava com o mesmo problema, e só configurei o proxy e deu certo.....Detalhe minha rede precisa de proxy.
