jabef coloquei os comando que me indicou, mas tem hora que da pra instalar os pacotes e tem hora que não...
no caso o tree consegui intalar mas quando fui instalar o ssh deu o mesmo erro...
segue...


root@server:/# sudo apt-get install openssh-client 
Lendo listas de pacotes... Pronto
Construindo árvore de dependências
Lendo informação de estado... Pronto
E: Impossível encontrar o pacote openssh-client

Seu ubuntu-13.10 já está sem suporte desde julho/2014, portanto não vai conseguir instalar nada nele mesmo!
Instale ubuntu-14.04 que terá suporte até abril/2019.
Ah! Só uso versões LTS!!

Opa! Já estou instalando o ubuntu 14.04
Espero que dê certo...
No caso perde alguma coisa como programas instalados e etc...?

Porque sei no windows as vezes acontece isso.

Sim , pode acontecer .

Voce ja instalou o Ubuntu 14.04 ou vai ficar no 13.10 ?

Se ficar no Ubuntu 13.10 , siga a minha dica[1]

Mas o recomendável é atualizar p/ o 14.04
