Impressora HP M1132 MFP não funciona

Olá a todos! Uso a distribuição Mageia (versão 6, 64 bits) num Asus X450C. Tenho uma impressora HP (modelo M1132 MFP) e não consigo fazê-la funcionar. Já tentei configurá-la pelo Centro de Controle, pelo HPLIP e pelo CUPS, mas sem sucesso. A impressora é reconhecida, o driver é instalado mas quando envio algo para imprimir recebo a mensagem "device communication error". Fiz testes liveusb de linux Mint e Fedora e tive resultados semelhantes. O detalhe é que num outro computador (netbook Asus EeePC 1005HA) com o Mageia instalado (versão 6, 32 bits) a impressora funciona normalmente. Pesquisei um pouco e não consegui encontrar soluções. Alguém tem ideia de como resolver isso?

Será que voce não está instalando um "hplip" de 32 bits num sistema de 64 bits?

Olá Ricardo! Obrigado por responder. Não é o caso. Acabei de verificar. Como o sistema é de 64 bits o hplip de 32 bits não está disponível no repositório.

Tenta instalar, reinicia o note, checa o status do cups: service cupsd status se já estiver executando, testa a impressão

JoseRenan, não encontrei nos repositórios o cups-image.

As demais dependências estão instaladas, mas algumas têm nomes ligeiramente diferentes:

Também encontrei as seguintes:

O teste do cups me deu o seguinte retorno: "Cannot find cupsd service".

Tente deletar a impressora, desconecte-a, remova os pacotes hplip:
hplip hplip-gui hplip-hpijs hplip-hpijs-ppds hplip-model-data

Reinicie o computador, conecte a impressora e a configure via CUPS (localhost:631) ou pelas central de configurações.

Hplip dos repositórios das distribuições podem ser antigos e não suportar um modelo mais atual de impressora.
Sugestão:
- desinstale completamente o hplip oriundo do repositório.
- baixe hplip diretamente do site do hplip. Verifique lá qual a versão mais antiga do hplip suporta sua impressora. Escolha uma versão entre a mais antiga e a atual (tentativa e erro). Nem sempre a versão mais atual é a melhor.
- hplip do site do hplip, segundo eles, serve para qualquer Linux.

- Na instalação é importante ter conexão com a internet para que o programa de instalação do hplip possa resolver as "dependências".
