pessoal, o boot do meu fedora 11 tava otimo, mto rapido. quando foi hj quando fui ligar o pc, demorou 2 minutos pra iniciar o fedora!! alguem sabe oq pode ser ?

veja se ocorre de novo... há no sistema ext3 uma checagem do sistema depois que a maquina é reiniciada determinadas vezes.. isso demora um pouco...

não lembro do fedora... no ubuntu, quando for assim , entro no terminal 1 (ctrl+alt+f1) para ver o que está ocorrendo na hora do boot.

Boot muito lentos repentinos podem ter causas variadas.
Seria útil verificar a configuração da CMOS -BIOS da máquina.
A batria da placa mãe pode estar descarregada e perder a configuração.
POde ser o sistema de arquivos.
Precisa verificar o que passa na tela e ver onde está agarrando no boot.
Tive um problema no Ubuntu 9.04 e era o kernel bichado. A atualização do kerenel acabou com o problema.
Seria útil verificar em outro boot, se existe se o comportamento é do Fedora ou da máquina como um todo.
Um mal contato nos encaixes de memórias ou placas ou cabos pode ser a fonte do problema.

A maneira mais fácil e indolor para verificar isto, será bootear de novo e confirmar se ocorre a mesma demora.

Como foi comentado em post acima depois de um determinado número de inicializações o sistema gatilha automaticamente uma verificação da integridade do sistema de arquivos. Isto normalmente toma algum tempo, dependendo obviamente do tamanho da partição e do volume de dados gravado. Pode ocorrer também quando o sistema detecta algum erro por desligamento não adequado. No próximo boot, pode aparecer algum problema e isto também pode gatilhar verificação do sistema.

Por isto, re-booteando você confirma que foi apenas verificação de rotina ou se eventualmente ocorreu algum outro problema. Dependendo disto haverá que pesquisar as outras causas prováveis.

pessoal, primeiramente obrigado pela ajuda, e eu liguei o note novamente umas 5 vezes e continua lento, dessa vez durante o boot entrei no modo nao grafico e constatei o seguinte tiveram umas 2 ou 3 coisas que demoraram mto a iniciar que sao as seguintes: sendmail e sm-client e talvez o sshd. esta demorando mto pra sair dessa parte, essas informações ajudam a fazer algo para acabar com o problema ? mais 2 informações que tenho sao as seguintes: aconteceu a lentidao depois que eu instalei o xampp(apache,mysql,php) e um cara me falou pra verificar /var/log/dmesg, e esta aki:
