Problema com audio, ubuntu 8.10

Tenho um notebook Hp Pavilion dv2000, instalei o ubuntu 8.10 nele, mas o audio não funciona e a placa foi reconhecida pelo sistema, veja o que foi retornando no comando lspci:

Conforme catei na internet essa solução que implica em reinstalar o alsa com a última versão assim:

apt-get install module-assistant alsa-source

Note que o repositório source precisa estar ativo no /etc/apt/menu.lst

OU vá ao site do alsa http://www.alsa-project.org/main/index.php/Main_Page


2-Já resolvi o problema de outra forma: O som HD é de alta definição, opera com 1 milisegundo de temo de espera (latência), ou em tempo real. O ubuntu temum kerenl compilado no repositório chamado rt

linux-nnnnn-2.6.24-21-rt onde nnnn são image, headers, modules , restricted modules, ubuntu-modules e precisa instalar também o linux-source-2.6.24

Todos os pacotes tem que ser exatamente da mesma versão 2.6.24.21

Ao fim da instalação verifique se ele modificou devidamente o /boot/grub/menu.lst

Esse é o do meu sistema o seu root=/dev/sda1 ou algo assim.O pci=msi é outra estória, nem sempre precisa disso.


NO meu acer aspire funcionou.
Esse é o mesmo kernel do generic mas tem tempos de espera menores, é mais rápido em multimedia, e bem melhor.



I figured it out on my Debian Unstable!

The alsa snd_hda_intel drivers even in 2.6.16.19 are somewhat buggy. They load, but don't work....

I did an "apt-get install module-assistant alsa-source", build and installed the alsa module through m-a, and now I have sound!!!!

The thing is, you need the latest alsa drivers! They work!
