Dois monitores Ubuntu 8.04

Recentemente resolvi retirar o meu monitor proview das poeiras e ligar o mesmo junto com um monitor Lcd Syncmaster 540n seguindo a dica deste link http://www.vivaolinux.com.br/artigo/Dois-monitores-no-Linux?pagina=1 , ocorre que no primeiro modo logo de primeira consegui fazer metade do primeiro passo ou seja ao digitar: X -config /root/xorg.conf.new dando sinal de ter os dois monitores funcionado. Depois reiniciei e não subiu o monitor lcd que esta numa mx4000 128 nvidia fiz varias outras tentativa e o erro era para eu remover o arquivo XO-look da pasta tmp e mesmo removendo não obtive exito.Segui para o segundo modo e fiz este xorg.conf mas ainda continuo sem sinal no lcd. Alguem poderia me ajudar em outras alternativas ?

Tem coisas que por mais que se pareça perfeito para vc um dia, pode ser ruim para outro,e por mais que se tenta ser perfeito naquilo que vc faz um dia sempre aparecera outro mais perfeito,este e o mundo linux liberdade de poder ter escolhas, então escolhi mandriva one com gnome 2008.0
