Erro na instalação de driver de video Nvidia no Ubuntu

Tentei instalar o driver da nvidia com $ sudo sh nvidia-linux.run no ubuntu e apareceu esses erros:

Como consigo resolver ?

2 coisas.

Por que instalar driver nvidia dessa forma se o Ubuntu tem uma forma muito mais fácil? (drivers adicionais)
A mensagem já diz o problema. Para instalar o pacote que baixou antes deve desinstalar o driver nouveau.
