Fala pessoal, estou com um probleminha aqui......
Ultimamente no meu FreeBSD, tem dado uns problemas com o X.
Acontece que formatei ele e reinstalei (pq o áudio tava bugado), e instalei o Xorg com o ambiente gráfico Fluxbox. Porém, ao fazer todo procedimento possível e necessário visto em tutoriais em sites da internet, o sistema não executa o X. Quando eu digito startx ou xinit, o mesmo somente deixa a tela totalmente preta, impossibilitando até mesmo de desligar o computador, não podendo fazer nada. Isso acontece com todos os ambientes gráficos. Ele somente deixa a tela totalmente preta na hora de levantar o X. Heeelp

Ok, vamos refazer algums passos anteriores.

Baixe os drivers VESA

Depois vá ao xorg.conf ou crie o arquivo driver-vesa.conf no diretório /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/

Depois adicione as seguintes linhas ao arquivo que criou ou o xorg.conf:

Section "Device"
Identifier "Card0"
Driver "vesa"
EndSection

Depois adicione as seguintes linhas no xorg.conf:

Section "Screen"

SubSection "Display"
Depth 24
Modes "1024x600" "800x600"
EndSubSection

Mas testa a solução anterior antes de colocar essas linhas do screen.

OBS: coloca um tab (Espaço) nas linhas abaixo do Section e acima do EndSection

Veja o que há em /var/log/Xorg.0.log que são os logs que contam o que houve.
Pode ser até problema de driver. Veja onde estão as mensagens de erros e cole-as no fórum.

Moço, como vc faz para colar um log estando em terminal puro??! Consigo ver o log, mas não sei como enviar pra cá....

Boa pergunta.

Você pode mandar para pendrive ou montar a partição de outro sistema e copiar para essa outra partição. Daí quando acessar o sistema, você abre do pendrive ou da partição, depois copia e cola.

A menos que você esteja no lynx, links, links2 etc.

Qual o hardware? Vídeo? Intel, ATI ou NVidia?
Mouse? Teclado? O que der para responder.

Pesquisei para saber o equivalente ao lspci no FreeBSD e resultou nisto aqui:

pciconf -lv

Cole também o resultado e fale o que sabe do hardware.

Mas qual o fabricante? Até porque notebook da Acer até agora consegui nada com FreeBSD.
Se instalou, pelo menos não é aquela damn f*cked incompatibilidade com ACPI.
Aqui está dando certo com Lenovo e VAIO. O prognóstico com hardware da Intel é otimista.
Estou estudando essa coisa de fazer o X subir no FreeBSD e estou analisando casos para saber quando vai.
