Instalando o Gentoo GNU/Linux

Eu sempre fui a favor de compartilhar conhecimento e uma coisa que me chama atenção é que a comunidade brasileira de Linux não costuma usar Gentoo, portanto, não se encontra muito conteúdo feito por brasileiros, foi por isso que resolvi fazer esse artigo, e também, pra desmistificar a instalação do sistema.

Denuncie Favoritos Indicar Impressora

Primeiro boot, atualizando o sistema e instalando o X

Depois de iniciar, vamos fazer um update completo:

# emerge -auDNtv @world

Agora, vamos adicionar alguns parâmetros ao make.conf:

# nano /etc/portage/make.conf

INPUT_DEVICES="evdev keyboard synaptics vmouse" # Altere para sua realidade,
VIDEO_CARDS="intel vesa" # Altere para sua realidade, se usar NVIDIA ou ATI, leia a documentação.

E vamos instalar o X:

# emerge -av xorg-drivers xorg-server

Depois de instalar, vamos ver se o xinit está funcionando, instalando alguns pacotes:

# emerge xclock xterm twm

Inicie o X para testar:

# startx

Se deu tudo certo, basta instalar a interface gráfica de sua preferência.

Para o Xfce:

# emerge xfce4-meta xfce4-terminal

Para o LXDE:

# emerge lxde-meta

Para interfaces gráficas mais pesadas (como KDE e GNOME), leia a documentação, pois tem que fazer alguns ajustes, mas nada demais.

Remove o "collision-protect" do make.conf.

Eu segui estas dicas do Fitzcarraldo, e consegui instalar o linux-firmware com o q eu precisava, sem precisar remover o collision-protect:
