Eai pessoal,
eu sou um usuario novo do linux e estou com problemas, baixei o ubuntu 12.10 e instalei, mas o sistema esta muito lento e acho que meu computador atende aos requisitos do sistema. A configuração é a seguinte Processador 3.06GHz - Memória RAM 2,5GB.
Alguém pode me ajudar, desde ja agradeço!

-se seu processador tem apenas um nucleo sugiro que use o linuxmint-mate ou o xubuntu que são mais leves que ubuntu

Olá, Boa noite.
Tente verificar a questão de drivers adicionais. É comum a interface gráfica do Unity apresentar problemas quando você não instala os drivers adicionais do controlador gráfico. Isso já aconteceu na minha estação de trabalho com placa NVidia.

Video da Via, fornecido pelo "mardito" chipset VIA P4M890/VIA VT8237A (<-- Tinha um desses e só funcionava com o vesa, nas versões recentes do X(ainda em 2010).

Alguém saberia dizer, se os drives Openchrome/Unichrome avançaram, ou o suporte a hardware da VIA no Linux ainda é "A M**D* de outros tempos"?
