Central de programas do ubuntu 10.10 não funciona [RESOLVIDO]

Instalei recentemente o Ubuntu 10.10 e não consigo instalar nenhum programa pela central de programas e nem pelo Synaptic. Também não consigo baixar atualizações.
Já tentei o comando sudo apt-get update mas o mesmo retorna várias erros de diretórios não encontros. Já tentei de tudo e não resolvi esse problema. Só consigo instalar programa baixando da internet o .deb.

O erro que mostra quando clico em instalar um programa na central de programas é "Falha ao baixar informações do repositório"


Alguém pode me ajudar por favor?

Vc tem certeza que seu Ubuntu é o 10.10 Maverick Meerkat?

Se tiver, prossiga.

O Ubuntu 10.10 não tem mais suporte, e por isso ele usa repositórios "diferentes".

Remova o que vc tiver em /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ e edite o arquivo de fontes padrão, ou seja, o /etc/apt/sources.list.

Abrindo para edição:

sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list 

Use o texto abaixo no arquivo aberto, removendo o que estiver nele.

deb http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick main restricted

deb http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick-updates main restricted

deb http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick universe

deb http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick-updates universe

deb http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick multiverse

deb http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick-updates multiverse

E remova os PPAs (cuidado aqui):

sudo rm -rf /etc/apt/sources.list.d/*

Ola Amigo, um dica:

abra o terminal e faça backup do seu sources.list, exemplo:

cp /etc/apt/sources.list /home/backup_sources-list

entre no diretório do apt:
cd /etc/apt

apage o seu sources.list

echo > sources.list


e cole este:

do 10.04 seria a mesma coisa???so mudaria o nome de camic para o nome do 10.04???

O 10.04 ainda tem suporte como servidor e por isso, ao que eu saiba, seus repositórios não foram para os "old releases".
