Resolução do Monitor [RESOLVIDO]

Pode parecer um assunto meio cansado, mas já rodei dezenas de fóruns e blogs tentando achar uma solução para meu problema!
É o seguinte! Instalei o Ubuntu 13.04 a cerca de um mês atrás, tudo funcionou bem até o primeiro login!
A resolução estava estranha então resolvi altera-la. Ao entrar no menu Monitores, eis minha surpresa a resolução era a máxima compatível com meu monitor! Então lembrei de um antigo problema que enfrentei ao usar o Windows, a taxa de atualização! Fui então na busca de um comando para o terminal que fizesse a alteração! Depois de alguns minutos encontrei o seguinte comando: xrandr.
Com ele pude ver todas as resoluções que meu monitor suportava e até mesmo as taxas de atualização!

Logo busquei no "help" do comando como atualizar para 75.0!
Achei o comando: xrandr -r 75.0

Ao pressionar ENTER, meus problemas aparentemente aviam se resolvido!
Continuei a utilizar o sistema fazendo as atualizações... Quando reiniciei, o problema estava lá! De novo!

Peguei reinstalei o sistema a partir da versão 10.04 LTS que tinha a opção de mudar a taxa, e que mesmo reiniciando o PC a taxa ficava igual! Atualizei pro 12.04 LTS, sem problema nenhum! Na sequencia 12.10, sem problema! Ao atualizar pra 13.04, quando eu ia fazer o login a tela fica distorcida e não dava pra fazer nada!

Hoje uso a 12.04 LTS, mas estou querendo passar para a 13.10 (que lançou a pouco tempo :D)!
Mas sei que ao fazer isso meu probleminha vai voltar! O que faço?

Se o aplicativo gráfico não te dá a opção, você precisa configurar um xorg.conf na unha.

$ sudo Xorg -configure 

Isso vai criar no diretório atual o arquivo xorg.conf.new. Posta ele aqui pra eu te passar mais instruções.

Posta o xorg.conf.new que ele criou, só pra eu me orientar melhor antes de te dizer alguma coisa.
