tenta usar o comando

update-grub

v c ele reconhece o windows

posta seu /boot/grub/grub.cfg

De uma lida no material indicado nos links da dica abaixo, pois estão bem explicadas as diferenças e procedimentos de configuração tanto do GRUB (Legacy) como do GRUB2.
