USB funciona para HD externo e Mouse, mas não para pen drive. O que fazer?

Pendrive novo. Pedi a gentileza de me ensinar as coisa passo a passo assim eu posso executar e conseguir com vocês a solução. Obrigado.

utilizei o lsusb para mostrar a vocês:

Parece que o pen-drive foi identificado, ele deve ser o:
Bus 002 Device 003: ID 058f:6387 Alcor Micro Corp. Flash Drive
Uma coisa a se fazer é ver se ele aparece entre as unidades de armazenamento. Para isso, pode-se usar o comando (provavelmente com sudo ou como root):
blkid 
Outro programa útil é o Discos (gnome-disks), que vem instalado por padrão no Ubuntu.

Uma outra ideia é ver o que aparece com o:
dmesg 
Especialmente na forma:
dmesg -w 
Quando inserir o pen-drive, veja se aparece alguma mensagem de erro.

Clodoaldo o pen drive funciona sim em outras máquinas. Está novo.

-se pendrive funciona noutro pc descartamos problemas físicos
-sugiro formatar esse pendrive em fat32
-mas antes faça bkp de seus arquivos importantes

A tentativa de formatar o pendrive esbarrou nessa menssagem:
Erro ao formartar o volume:

Uma observação, quando eu inicio o computador aparece esta menssagem (Será que não tem relação as portas USB):
