Quando o sistema termina de carregar você consegue acessar algum terminal? Tenta ctrl + f3 , por exemplo. 
Se conseguir tenta fazer o comando startx pra ver e retorna algo.

Quando se aperta a tecla "E" durante a primeira tela de inicialização do GRUB aparece uma tela com informações semelhantes a essas. Estou certo?
