Ubuntu 12.10 não atualiza PPA

Ola!
Apos formatar uma maquina com Ubuntu 12.10 e executar o comando "sudo apt-get update" ele retorna com vários erros e não atualiza nem o sistema operacional nem os programas que vieram instalados.

Mensagem retornada pelo terminal apos executar o comando:

Eugenio, o Ubuntu 12.10 (quantal) está sem suporte desde 07/2013. Veja o link abaixo:

Obs.: Se quiser migrar para o 14.04.4 LTS (trusty) que terá suporte até 04/2019, substitua [quantal] por [trusty]

Ubuntu-12.10 foi lançado em outubro-2012 e já sem suporte desde julho-2013
Faça bkp de seus arquivos e faça instalação limpa do ubuntu-14.04-lts ou do ubuntu-15.10

Vi que o Lubuntu 14.4 tem requerimentos mínimos menores que o Ubuntu 14.4, vale a pena o Lubuntu?

Sim!! É o Ubuntu com o ambiente LXDE e não o padrão Unity (pesadão). Você usa os mesmos comandos, mesmo gerenciador de pacotes, o famoso ' apt-get '.
