Olá galera, é o seguinte:
peço a orientação de vocês pois instalei o slack 13 no meu notebook, mas a minha internet não está funcionando.
Aqui em casa eu uso dhcp, por ser mais fácil de rotear a internet, além disso estou usando a placa de rede com fio (estou sem roteador wireless) por isso acreditei que eu iria conectar automático no slack, mas infelizmente isso não aconteceu.
Gostaria de adiantar algumas informações para quem se propuser a me auxiliar:
meu note é um acer aspire 4810t-8645
não sei se isso influencia mas , quando eu inicio o X, o akonadi console aponta alguns erros, (caso seja necessário posso postá-los aqui)
embora eu já tenha uma pequena experiência com várias outras distros, sou completamente iniciante com o slack, por isso peço que sejam pacientes, e eu prometo que serei esforçado, pois não consigo mais tirar o slack da minha cabeça heheh

Bom, é uma boa idéia começar verificando:
1º - Qual é o chipset das suas placas de rede (wifi e cable).
2º - Os respectivos módulos já foram carregados.
se possível manda a saida do comando "lspci -vv" afim de coletarmos mais informação para lhe ajudar.

Você já tentou um # dhcpcd eth0 , quando eu instalei foi só fazer isso e funcionou.

opa velhow blz?,

assim no slack ele reconhece isso sim mais na instalação quando ele pergunta se vc quer configurar a rede vc tem que dizer sim e selecionar dhcp ^^

primeiro de tudo veja se ele subiu sua placa, rode ifconfig no terminal
ai vc pode passar as informações manualmente pelo ifconfig

#ifconfig eth0 down
#ifconfig eth0 ip_desejado up

ou dar um netconfig (se não me engano é esse o comando) e reconfigurar por lá

Fala velho ! hehehe slackware realmente e dificil de sair da cabeça,uma vez usado ja era voce se apaixona!
Tipo no dvd tem um pacote chamado extra e dentro tem um programa que chama wicd tenta instalar ele,uso ele aqui com wireless e cabo . Tenta ai a qualquer duvida posta !

o que retorna o comando ifconfig -a

tenta dar um dhclient [placa]

e faz como postado antes instala o wicd ele é bem prático.

Bom galera, antes de tudo me desculpe a demora por retornar os resultados das minhas tentativas. Acontecce que eu estou indo bem devagar com o slackware.
mesmo depois de eu postar a minha pergunta aqui eu continuei pesquisando e tentando, tentei inclusive configurar minha rede com ip fixo, com os mesmos dados do meu ubuntu, no qual eu tb coloquei ip fixo para experimentar, e minha internet funcionou legal.

Peço que naum me entendam mal, mas o kde do slackware também possui um gerenciador gráfico de rede, dentro do gerenciador do sistema, assim como o gnome do ubuntu. E eu acredito que poderia configurar minha rede com ip fixo, atraves dele não é mesmo?
A questão é que, quando eu clico na opção para configurar as opções de rede, aparece a seguinte mensagem de erro:
"Não foi possível ler o arquivo XML", além disso o gerenciador não mostra nehuma interface de rede. Alguém saberia me dizer se é esse erro que está me impossibilitando de configurar minha internet?

Acredito que não. Coisas do Slackware. :)

Faça o seguinte, logue-se em um terminal como root e execute o seguinte comando:

# netconfig

Aí você define se quer dhcp, se quer ip estático etc.

Olha só galera, eu já usei o netconfig várias vezes, com dhcp e com ip fixo (com os mesmos dados do meu ubuntu, que funciona), mas infelizmente naum dá certo,
Já tentei o ifconfig etho ip desejado up, seguido de dhclient, que também naum funciona,
A única coisa que eu não tentei foi instalar o wicd, pois eu esperava configurar a minha net através do assistente do kde, (aliás eu não entendo o porque do slackware ter um gerenciador nativo se ele não funciona, prefiro acreditar que eu instalei o slack errado).
Mais uma coisa. quando eu configuro meu ip com o comando dhcp, o sistema define um ip diferente da minha faixa, pois a minha faixa é 192.168.2.1, e o sistema define como 169.xxx.xxx.xxx, ou seja, dessa forma, nunca que eu vo conseguir conectar nem na rede interna.
Bom, de qualquer maneira, eu não e importo com esses problemas, vou continuar tentando heheheh, afinal de contas, ainda so novato noo slack, mas qualquer ajuda é bem vinda.

eu ja tive problemas semelhante aqui quando resolvi testar o debian testing, que vem com kde 4, achei muito instável o squeeze, e voltei a usar lenny.

quanto ao seus problemas, veja isto;

o que retorna o comando?
ifconfig -a

Bom galera, aqui estou eu de novo, me desculpem demorar tanto para dar retorno, como eu disse no início da minha pergunta, eu estou sem roteador wireless, e o fio da intenrnet só sobra pra mim depois da meia quando, quando eu chego da facu, e o meu irmão já está dormindo e não jogando, como de costume.
