Olá senhores, eu quero aqui expor a solução de um problema que quase me fez desistir de usar o Linux por pensar que o Linux seria um sistema muito difícil de usar. Por inumeras vezes instalei o Linux de várias versões em um notebook semp toshiba antigo e sempre encontra problema na placa de vídeo CN896/VN896/P4M900 [Chrome 9 HC]. Com muita persistência eu encontrei a solução e quero aqui descrever. Aqui no forum há muitos relatos de amigos tentando ajudar mas não deu certo. O mérito não é meu de um site que eu encontrei na internet a pessoa instalou o Linux Insigna que era o linux original de um PC que possuia a tal placa e então ele copiou o

xorg.conf

e colou na pasta X11do Ubuntu e funcionou. Segue então o xorg.conf.
Vale ressaltar que você não vai conseguir usar 3D e sim 2D. O 3D é impossível no Linux com essa placa Via.
