Ubuntu Travado Em um janela

depois de abrir qualquer vídeo, ou em qualquer lugar do sistema que possibilite colocar em tela cheia, após clicar em voltar, o ubuntu fica travado na janela anterior, as barras superiores e lateral somem, e todos os comandos e atalhos não funcionam mais

uso ubuntu 16.10 64-bit
Processador Intel® Core™2 Duo CPU E4500 @ 2.20GHz × 2
Memoria 4Gib
Não tenho placa de Vídeo

Poste a saída desse comando:

( glxinfo | grep -e "version" -e "vendor" -e "renderer string" ) 

Tem um Intel Atom que acho que não é capaz de gerar os gráficos exigidos por versões modernas do GNOME, nele as vezes sumiam caixa de dialogo, nas versões mais atuais ele não é capaz de mostrar nada.

Pode ser realmente o OpenGL: https://tech.slashdot.org/story/12/10/24/1217259/opengl-becoming-a-requirement-for-the-linux-desktop

Você pode tentar rodar outros ambientes desktop mais leves e que não fazem uso do OpenGL.
