Alternatively, you may set the environment variables EXIF_CFLAGS
and EXIF_LIBS to avoid the need to call pkg-config.
See the pkg-config man page for more details.

Acho que o 3.6 só funciona no Ubuntu 12.10. E vc instala fácil com o PPA do gnome3.

No 12.04 eu uso o Nautilus com patch do SoluOS.

Siga a dica abaixo:

http://va.mu/cJFJ

caso queira testar.

Para instalar o 3.6 no 12.10:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:gnome3-team/gnome3 -y && sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade && killall nautilus

Dei uma olhada no arquivo README e vi que preciso do Gnome 3.6

Veja o arquivo "install" para instruções de instalação. Você vai precisar de um
completa e up-to-date ambiente de desenvolvimento do GNOME para construir nautilus.
