Engraçado já passei por isso algumas vezes e consegui resolver más essa tá osso...

Interessante que a linha a qual foi sugerida a colocação do nome do drive estava dobrada, será por causa dos dois ambientes gráficos?

Mais estranho já deu isso antes e resolvi quase sempre com o comando "alsamixer" más agora tá osso

só não mudei o parametro da conf. do grub-common 2

Aí eu mato as cobras e mostro o pau... Eu fui mais radical, retirei o KDE até na raiz e o alsa e seus comparsas... Ai dei uma purgada geral no sistema com o comando...

Para purgar os arquivos de configuração inutilizáveis, é preciso utilizar o código (em um terminal) :

sudo dpkg --purge $(COLUMNS=200 dpkg -l | grep "^rc" | tr -s ' ' | cut -d ' ' -f 2)

Por incrível que pareça pego em fórum Ubuntu!!! Aí ré-instalei o alsa-base o alsa-utilis alsa-mixer ré-instalei as bibliotecas de suporte geral os plugs descartei o pulse-áudio ré-iniciei a bagaça ... Bingo o bendito som voltou!!!
Aí colegas fica dica thanks pena que como antes não recebi ajuda, más está valendo... Afinal não sou tão iniciante, tenho que virar de certa forma só! ok T+ ...
