Audacity e wxWidgets 2.4.x

bom dia a todos o/

estou tentando colocar o audacity em meu slackware 12.0, mas está ocorrendo o seguinte erro no ./configure:

checking for wx-config... /usr/bin/wx-config

configure: error: Unable to locate a suitable configuration of wxWidgets v2.4.x.
The currently available configurations are listed below. If necessary, either
install the package for your distribution or download the 2.4.x version of
wxWidgets from http://wxwidgets.org.
To help configure find the right version set WX_CONFIG to point to it.
wxWidgets 2.5.x and 2.6.x are NOT supported!

já procurei a wxWidgets 2.4, mas não achei com este nome... achei como wxWindows 2.4

já a instalei mas o erro persiste
tenho a wxWidgets 2.6 e 2.8 instaladas... seria isso? tenho que retirar a 2.6?

Amigo, o audacity não roda com o wxWidgets 2.8, vc terá q usar a versao 2.6, por isso nem eh bom ter os dois instalados!!
se nao me engano a versao do audacity 1.2 usa wxWidgets 2.4, para o audacity 1.3.xx beta, vc deve usar o 2.6!!
espero que ajude, e o audacity necessita de muitas dependencias chatas, estou tendo problemas aki tbm!!
só q ele nao acusa falta, simplismente da erro na compilação!!
aah tbm uso Slackware 12.0 (na verdade ja atualizei tudo e ja eh current) qndo instalar uma nova lib, nao eskeça de executar como root:
ldconfig
