Ubuntu trava ao conectar o WiFi

Prezados, já pesquisei em outros tópicos antes de postar, porém não encontrei nada que ajudasse a resolver meu problema.
É o seguinte, instalei o Ubuntu 16.10 em meu Desktop e ao conectar o WiFi ele trava completamente, restando apenas a opção de reinicia-lo manualmente. Após várias tentativas sem sucesso eu troquei para a versão16.04, porém o problema persiste da mesma forma. Eu não tenho acesso via cabo, apenas WiFi. O computador tem instalado tbm o Windows 10, mas esse S.O. roda numa boa e conecta o wifi normalmente.
Tudo isso começou após o modem da internet q eu compartilho ser trocado.
Se alguém já tiver passado por isso antes e puder me ajudar fico agradecido.

Só apareceu Realtek RTL8111/8168/8411

Qual a saída dos comandos?

sudo rfkill list all

sudo iwlist wlan0 scan

sudo lspci -v

sudo lsusb -v

sudo uname -a


Como você usa Desktop o WiFi é do tipo usb ou placa pci?

-se vc está usando desktop com adaptador-wifi-usb poste saída comando: lsusb
