Problemas para atualizar repositórios

Olá a todos;

Sou novo usuário de Linux (leia-se grande newba) e uso Ubuntu 16.04 (Gnome).
Queria pedir uma ajuda a quem puder salvar:

Andei tentando instalar o Wine por aqui, e percebi que teria que habilitar a arquitetura 32 bits, achei que tinha conseguido...
(newbee, não conhecia o PlayOnLinux, e acabei tentando instalar o Wine direto seguindo um monte de passos misturados na rede: adiciona um repositório aqui, habilita uma opção ali...).
Eis então que agora ,quando lanço o comando "apt-get update", mesmo tendo desmarcado os repositórios (graficamente pelo atualizador de progs) me aparece a seguinte mensagem:

Olá manowellington, ao meu ver a melhor coisa que vc deve fazer, é desinstalar o google chrome. Para isto, use o synaptic,
digitando na pesquisa: google-chrome-stable; clique com o botão direito e procure: Marcar para remoção. Depois vá no menu
Configurações, Repositórios; vai abrir a tela de programas e atualizações, nela procure por outros programas e desmarque o repositório do google.
Baixe o google chrome novamente e instale: https://www.google.com/chrome/browser/desktop/index.html.

-não existe mais google chrome 32bits
-seu ubuntu é 64 ou 32 bits ???

Pela mensagem está parecendo que seu sistema é 32 bits e o google chrome não tem mais suporte para 32 bits, se não me engano os únicos que ainda tem é o chromium e o firefox mas não tenho certeza

Sobre a arquitetura, até onde averiguei, é 64 bits mesmo:

Essa zica, eu acho, rolou das mazelas para instalar o Wine...
Bem, de qualquer maneira, eu desinstalei o Chrome, desabilitei os rep. e mandei fazer update. Novamente, a mesma mensagem, igualzinho a anterior. Então decidi instalar o Chromium, que é bem firmeza, mas não toca minhas rádios favoritas =(
Mandei update e novamente, a msm msg.
Por fim, desinstalei todo mundo, e reinstalei só o Chrome.

Vc instalou google chrome 32 bits; faça como eu orientei, baixe direto do site do google, a versão 64 bits para o ubuntu ou seja com a extensão .deb e instale dando 2 cliques.

Olá, pessoal;
Desculpem a demora em responder - uma chuva danada caiu aqui (Sorocaba) e inundou tudo... baita zica...
Enfim, Ubuntu Gnome 16.04 não vem com Synaptic, então, instalei para remover o Google Chrome (desmarquei os repositórios). Feito isso, tentei dar um update... no terminal, fazia o download mas não concluía a instalação... Reinicei e desliguei o pc algumas vezes mas o problema persistia. Tinha que forçar para fechar o programa porque mesmo depois de vários minutos, não terminava a tarefa. Reinicei e abri o terminal, dei sudo apt-get autoremove e depois autoclean.
Então, um novo problema apareceu: Could not get lock /var/lib/apt/lists/lock - open (11: Resource temporarily unavailable)
/var/lib/apt/lists/ locked

Esse comando resolveu esse problema : sudo rm /var/cache/app-info/xapian/default/flintlock
(antes havia tentando remover a lista e dar update mas não funcionou).

Agora, depois de ter apagado o Chrome, e mesmo ainda sem ter instalado de novo, o comando apt-get update aparece como (não creio):
