COMANDO "HOST -T A NOMEDOMINIO" DEBIAN 9

Boa tarde.

Estou me debatendo já alguns dias pesquisando na internet um problema como o Debian9.

Estou instalando o samba para estudar.

Minha questão é a seguinte ao dar o seguinte comando no Debian 8 "host -t A nomedominio" retorna o ip da máquina certinho, a fazer a mesma coisa com o Debian 9 tenho a seguinte mensagem se configurar

o resolv.conf sem o gateway do (modem).

root@SRVSMBDC:/etc# host -t A vre.int
;; connection timed out; no servers could be reached

o resolv.conf com o gateway

search vre.int
nameserver 192.168.15.252
nameserver 192.168.15.1

root@SRVSMBDC:/etc# host -t A vre.int
Host vre.int not found: 3(NXDOMAIN)

arquivo hosts

127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost
192.168.15.252 SRVSMBDC.vre.int SRVSMBDC
