Erro com yum no CentOS 6.3 [RESOLVIDO]

não estou conseguindo usar o yum update , ja configurei o proxy no yum.conf e profile e aparece o seguinte erro :

Could not retrieve mirrorlist http://mirrorlist.centos.org/?release=6&arch=x86_64&repo=os error was
14: PYCURL ERROR 7 - "couldn't connect to host"
Error: Cannot find a valid baseurl for repo: base
[root@monitor-imc1 nicolas]# vim /etc/yum.conf
[root@monitor-imc1 nicolas]# yum update
Loaded plugins: fastestmirror, refresh-packagekit, security
Loading mirror speeds from cached hostfile
Could not retrieve mirrorlist http://mirrorlist.centos.org/?release=6&arch=x86_64&repo=os error was

Tive o mesmo problema que resolvi da seguinte forma: peguei o DNS público da google e coloquei no inicio da pesquisa do /etc/resolve.conf
nameserver 8.8.8.8
nameserver 8.8.4.4

Eu já tive problema com o yum e só consegui resolver depois que zerei a base de dados dele, mas a mensagem esta mostrando uma dificuldade de resolver nome, esta mais para ser dns. Mas caso você queria zerar a base o procedimento é este.





rm -f /var/lib/rpm/__db*
rpmdb --initdb
rpmdb --rebuilddb
yum clean all
yum check-update

substitua o arquivo yum.conf por este

tive o mesmo problema e resolvi colocando o nameserver no arquivo /etc/resolv.conf:
nameserver 8.8.8.8
nameserver 8.8.4.4
