Já vi muitos tópicos sobre wireless e testei todsas as soluções que encontrei e nenhuma funcionou pra mim.
Estou tentando migrar totalmente para o linux, mas estou encontrando problemas.

Eu tinha no pc o Ubuntu 9.10 e a wireless só funcionava de vez em quando, e quando atualizei para a versão 10.04 no primeiro dia funcionou perfeitamente. Agora, mesmo sem ter mudado nenhuma configuração, não consigo conectar pela wireless (que fica a todo momento pedindo senha) e nem com o próprio cabo da antena (é via rádio).
Consigo conectar com o modem 3g normalmente, o que não era possivel no 9.10.
O que posso fazer para estabilizar a conexão?

de uma olhada no arquivo /etc/network/interfaces, talvez alterando algo a conexão pode acontecer automaticamente no boot.

Faça o seguinte, clique com o botão direito no icone de rede que fica em cima proximo ao botao desligar, va em editar conexões, e localize o sem fio remova tudo que estiver lá e feche, depois peça para procurar novamente sua rede sem fio, ai sim vc vai consegui conectar......
caso isso nao funcione, coloque o seu modem 3g...
e faça o seguine..
#aptitude update
ou
#apt-get update
#apt-get -f install




4. Mesmo problema que desapareceu ao atualizar

Eu também tenho o mesmo cartão wifi:
Realtek Semiconductor Corp. RTL8187B Wireless 802.11g 54Mbps Network Adapter

Trabalhei sem problema em Karmic e ao atualizar a Lucid também fiquei sem conexões sem fio.
Depois de fazer procuras e consultas nos bugs de Launchpad, sem ter respostas que aportassem uma solução, esta mesma semana recuperei a conexão, e isso sem tão sequer atualizar o kernel.

O problema era que o hardware-switch do cartão ficava desligado ao iniciar Ubuntu, sem possibilidade de o ligar. Ainda não sei qual foi a mudança que deu solução ao meu problema, mas o importante é que agora a rede sem fio roda no meu laptop.

Eu acho que com uma atualização o problema há desaparecer.

NAo sei vem ao caso mas seria interessante que durante a atualização da versao 9.10 para a 10.04, a pĺaca de rede fique ligada para ela ser identificada pelo sistema, ou vc ir em drivers de hardware para instalar os drivers....

Abra o terminal e tire um log de dmesg:

dmesg > dmesg.log

O arquivo dmesg.log ficará na sua pasta pessoal. Copie e cole o contido do arquivo, a ver se o seu problema é similar ao que eu tive.

Ingrid, assegure-se também de que todas as configurações da conexão sejam corretas: as IPs, a rota padrão, etc.

No meu caso, num laptop OKI NB0508, não tenho um interruptor físico para desligar a wlan. Só é possível fazê-lo desde a BIOS.

Ainda assim, quando atualizei a Lucid a wlan ficou desligada, o hardware switch ficou em off. Além disso, não podia usar outros cartões wifi se não incorporava ao blacklist o driver rtl8187.

Mas não sei o que significa.


Angeloo:
Agora estou conectada no 3g para responder o tópico, mas vou testar e já posto o resultado.
E eu também não me lembro se quando instalei o ubuntu estava ligada ou não a placa de rede.
E nos drives de hardware tem apenas um identificado: Aplicativo Modem. Não sei tem como identificar mais drivers ou ele só identifica automaticamente.

E também não editei as rotas, tudo que eu tinha editado era nas configurações do IPv4, mas como vi que nas rotas têm os mesmos ítens a se preencher achei que não fosse necessário.



Não tenho muito conhecimento em Linux, mas acredito que mandei as informações de forma correta.

Atualize o sistema, com o gerenciador de atualizações ou bem com o terminal.
Eu tenho o kernel 2.6.32-22-generic, mais novo que o que você tem, e a conexão wireless vai bem.

É estranho que no dmesg.log não existam registros do dispositivo. No meu caso acho estas linhas:

Quando não conectava tinha o wireless switch em off, mas o dispositivo ficava registrado no dmesg.log.

Outro assunto misterioso é a concatenação de mensagens de auto-negotiating do dispositivo eth0. Semelha que o dispositivo SiS 191 gigabite ethernet device tem problemas de compatibilidade, dependendo da versão do kernel. Pode atopar se procura em Google:

Em referência à ausência do dispositivo wireless, comprove que não tem instalado o ndiswrapper. Se o ndiswrapper está instalado, apague-o por completo.

Mire também que no arquivo /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf não existe esta linha:

blacklist rtl8187

Se a linha existe, edite o arquivo com privilégios de administrador:

sudo gedit /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf

Apague a linha ou comente-a assim:

#blacklist rtl8187

Junta-se a fome coas ganhas de comer...
É mui tarde aqui, vou dormir e amanhã mirarei se atopo algo mais.

Em referência à concatenação de mensagens de auto-negotiating, existe um problema com os dispositivos SiS 190, resolto no kernel 2.6.34, em versão release candidate, e pretendem fazer um backport a anteriores versões estáveis do kernel:

Então, uma coisa que você pode fazer é instalar os pacotes duma nova versão do kernel. Por exemplo, as do 2.6.34-RC7:

Não é suportado pelo Ubuntu como o kernel padrão, mais quando se trata de uma versão não estável. Está a fazê-lo em seu próprio risco.

Se algo não vai bem, você pode escolher o kernel original quando o sistema inicia, no menu do Grub e depois pode proceder à remoção dos pacotes do novo kernel.
