Tenho uma impressora Multifuncional Laser da HP modelo M1212. Essa impressora também manda e recebe faxes, escaneia e copia (xerox).
Eu tinha instalado o Ubuntu 10.04, e tudo na impressora tinha funcionado perfeitamente, inclusive a função de scanner. Mas, depois que eu atualizei o sistema pro 11.10, o scanner parou de funcionar e tá dando esse erro:

Já dei uma olhada nas portas, sendo que a porta que é apontada quando rodo o 'debug' como estando ocupada, está destinada exclusivamente pro scanner.
O que pode ter acontecido? Na minha leiga opinião, acredito que seja um conflito de portas. Mas como resolver/identificar isso? Valeu.

Oi André,

Esse também seria meu palpite, não tenho experiência com essas configurações. Talvez o comando strace seja útil para descobrir algo mais. Basta prefixar strace aos comandos e todas as chamadas ao sistema operacional serão impressas na tela.

Confesso que não entendi muita coisa, mas pelo que pude notar superficialmente, está faltando um diretório. O comando está apontando para um diretório que não existe no SysOp. E aí pode estar a causa da falha, pois com a atualização da versão do Ubuntu, esse diretório pode ter sido apagado.
Estive pensando em fazer uma instalação limpa, do zero, sem atualização sobreposta. Mas não sei se resolverá o problema.

Confesso que não entendi muita coisa, mas pelo que pude notar superficialmente, está faltando um diretório. O comando está apontando para um diretório que não existe no SysOp. E aí pode estar a causa da falha, pois com a atualização da versão do Ubuntu, esse diretório pode ter sido apagado.
Estive pensando em fazer uma instalação limpa, do zero, sem atualização sobreposta. Mas não sei se resolverá o problema.

Está sim Júlio. Todo o resto das funções da impressora está funcionando normalmente, menos o scanner, que está dando o problema ora postado.
