Olá pessoal,
sou iniciante no linux e estou com um problema e acredito ser com o driver de video.

Minha distribuição é o Debian 6.0.3, quando ele inicia ele lista os usuários, caso eu "logue" com um usuário especifico a tela e o sistema trava. Acredito que o problema seja com o video pois na exibição dos usuários percebo que o sistema está com uma resolução 1280x720 e assim que eu logo com esse usuário problematico noto que o sistema altera a resolução pra 800x600 e trava. Com os demais usuários isso não acontece. Já tentei Xorg -configure e colocar o xorg.conf.new em /etc/X11/xorg.conf dar permissão, mas não funcionou.

Você pode tentar procurar por um possível erro no arquivo ~/.xsession-errors. Ele contém informações a respeito de uma seção do X e caso ocorra algum erro, pode-se encontrar por aí. Existe também o arquivo /var/log/Xorg.0.log. Dê uma olhada e vê o que eles dizem, se aparece uma mensagem de erro, etc.
