Ola , estou com um problema no meu ubuntu 9.04, esta semana eu atualizei meu ubuntu do 8.10 para o 9.04 pelo alternate cd, e ocorreu tudo certo, menos o fato do meu driver nvidia ter sido desinstalado ou não suportado não sei, então baixei uma versão mais nova do site da nvidia, a versão 180.51, instalei ela normalmente, porem quando vou reiniciar o gdm, aparece o seguinte problema:

olha, duas coisas.
ou vc tem uma placa um pouco antiga, se me lembro os series 180, são só pra Gforce serie 6 ou superior, 6800 ,por ex...
ou, o que á ainda mais comum....
precisa reconstruir os modulos de kernel, eu sei fazer isso em Gentoo, mas acho que no Ubuntu é diferente...
Os repos ubuntu não tem o driver funcionante, ja adequado pro seu kernel?
antes da atualização eu usava o driver 177 da nvidia e funcionava perfeitamente, depois da atualização o driver 177 da o mesmo problema.
parece q ta faltando alguns pacotes, modulos...
Se for copiar o xorg.conf dele, não copie a seção do monitor (a não ser que o seu seja igual) e preste atenção na confusão entre "o" (letra) e "0" (número), como por exemplo:
Identifier "Layouto" = Identifier "Layout0"
Finalmente, veja como configurar o teclado para abnt2:
annak, não tenho muita experiência com linux, então vc poderia me explicar melhor quais pacotes tenhu que baixar, se tenhu q remover o atual e tals
e pinduvoz, fiz o que vc falou, alterei meu xorg, arrumei o teclado e depois fui pro console insalar o drive 173, mais essa versão do driver nem instala, eu já havioa tentado instalar antes e ocorreu o mesmo erro. irei postar ele aqui pra vc dar uma olhada:

o driver 177 e 180 instala, amis o 173 nem instala.
Eu consigo usar o pc normalmente, mais queria muito poder ativar os efeitos 3D.
estarei no aguardo de mais dicas.
